Benito Vasquez
Position: Coordinator, Southwest Region, University of Houston-Downtown
Bio
Benito Vasquez currently serves as the Coordinator at University of Houston-Downtown in the Southwest region of the Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI). He holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and an MFA in Performance and Pedagogy. Most recently, he served as the Manager of Community Partnerships at the Alley Theatre where he worked to build relationships between the theatre and its community by creating more immersive and interactive theatre-based experiences for traditionally undeserved community members. Benito has also served as the Director of an HSI STEM Grant Program at University of Houston-Clear Lake where he built a Learner's Community, a Peer Mentorship program, and an Undergraduate Internship and Research Assistantship program. He was also the Manager of Mexican Programs for City University of Seattle where he managed international double-degree programs with public and private university partners in Mexico. Benito is a proud advocate for equity in higher education and the arts.
