Nohelia Diplan

Position: CAHSI Coordinator, School of Computer Science & Technology, Kean University

Bio

Nohelia Diplan is Managing Assistant Director at Kean University. Her area of research focuses on creating inclusive educational environments for under-representative students and understanding student experiences as they navigate through these transitions developing their professional identities. She works closely with computer science and information technology students at Kean, in their transition to a new academic environment and provides support and education of the resources available for student success.

Before joining Kean, she worked as a children and family therapist, with children in the child-welfare system.  In addition, Nohelia has experience working with a wide variety of mental health issues from youth to adulthood. Nohelia Diplan holds a B.A from Kean University in Psychology and a M.S.W from New York University, in Social Work. While at NYU, she travelled and lived abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she worked on community mental health outreach in a hospital setting and with the homeless population.
