Position: Assistant Professor, Kean University
Daehan Kwak is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Kean University, NJ, USA. He received a Ph.D. in computer science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, and an M.S. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea, in 2008. He was with the Telematics and USN Research Division, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), during his graduate work and worked as a research staff at the UWB Wireless Research Center at Inha University, KAIST, and Yonsei University. His current research interest includes intelligent systems, systems & networking, wireless & sensor systems, cyber-physical systems, health networks & applications, mobile & vehicular computing, and smart transportation.
He was elected as the Councilor for the Mathematics and Computer Sciences Division, Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), in 2020. He was inducted into the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 2020. He has also been involved in the Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) efforts to accelerate the education of Hispanic students in computing and has a role in supporting the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). He serves as the Guest Editor in the journal, Electronics, and Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, and is a reviewer for several international journals and conferences along with undergraduate proceedings.
