Position: Senior Lecturer, University of Texas at Arlington

Bio

Dr. Santra is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a researcher at the Information Technology Laboratory (ITLab) at UT Arlington. His current research interests include databases, multi-feature data analysis, graph mining and querying, multilayer networks, video content modeling and analysis, and information fusion. As part of his Ph.D. work, he proposed and worked on developing the framework for analyzing multilayer networks (MLNs) using the efficient decoupling approach. On these lines, he is part of several projects that involve the development of centrality, community, and substructure discovery algorithms for MLNs. He is mentoring teams of graduate and undergraduate students in the development of analysis and visualization web-based dashboards. Apart from the MLN work, he is also part of the research group that is working on building a generalized framework to model and analyze extracted video content. In conclusion, he is passionate about developing technologies that can aid the community at large from various fields to understand their data, generate insights from multiple perspectives and take informed decisions.
