Dr. Avdesh Mishra is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK). He received his MS and PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of New Orleans, New Orleans, USA in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Additionally, he received his BE degree in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2012. His research focuses on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Mining, Big Data, and Cyber Intelligence. He has published several peer-reviewed journal articles or conference proceedings in AI, data science, bioinformatics, and Cybersecurity. He has advised more than 9 undergraduate students and more than 16 graduate students. Dr. Mishra has secured over $2.5 million in external funding from prestigious organizations including the Department of Homeland Security, Texas A&M AgriLife DHS COE (CBTS), Department of Defense, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Dr. Mishra’s past work in bioinformatics, data science, AI, ML, and Data Mining will be utilized for carrying out research on ubiquitin PTM sites prediction.
