Position: Associate Professor of Computer Science, California State University, Dominguez Hills
Bin Tang is an associate professor of Department of Computer Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He received his Ph.D. degree (2007) in Computer Science from Stony Brook University (advisor: Dr. Himanshu Gupta) and was a member of WINGS Lab directed by Dr. Samir R. Das. He received M.S. degrees in Computer Science (2002) and Materials Science (2000) from Stony Brook University, and B.S. of Physics (1997) from Peking University, China.
His research interest lies at the intersection of data, networking, and algorithms. He is particularly interested in identifying and solving new algorithmic problems concerning data placement, storage, and replication in emerging networks and cyber-physical systems. His current focus is on virtual machines and virtual network functions in policy-driven data centers. He also worked on data preservation in wireless ad hoc sensor networks and data anonymity and anonymizing systems in information security.
