Position: Visiting Assistant Professor, University of Texas at El Paso
Daniel Mejia was born and raised in El Paso, TX and loves the desert southwest. He graduated from Andress High School in 2012 then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at UTEP where he graduated in May 2015. From there he went on to conduct research in the iLink research labs in the CS department. He spent time researching Smart Cities, Semantic Web technologies, and data representation at both UTEP and abroad in Mexico. He completed a master’s degree in May 2017 then a Ph.D. in Computer Science in May 2019.
He is currently a member of the CS faculty and the supervisor for all teaching assistants in the Computer Science department and is a member of the Graduate program committee. He loves to teach and support his students. Currently, Dr. Mejia is engaged in research related to Software Engineering, Applied Agile Software Development, and interdisciplinary intersections of foundational/classroom Software Engineering and Applied Software Engineering.
