Position: Assistant Professor, Kean University
Dr. Kuan Huang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Kean University (Union, NJ). Before working at Kean, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center and the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX). He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Utah State University (Logan, UT) in 2021 and his B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology (Harbin, China) in 2016. His research interests include artificial intelligence, computer vision, and pattern recognition. He primarily focuses on breast pathology image segmentation, style translation, and breast ultrasound image segmentation and classification using deep learning approaches. He is now working on a research project related to weakly supervised image segmentation. He has published 18 papers in top-tier journals and conferences like Neurocomputing, IEEE International Conference on Pattern Recognition, IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging, and IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo. He is an IEEE member and a member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. He has served as a reviewer for many journals and conferences, such as the IEEE Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision, Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, and the Journal of Computer Science and Technology.
