Position: Associate Professor, California State University, Los Angeles
Dr. Pourhomayoun is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at California State University Los Angeles. He is the founder and director of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Research Lab at California State University Los Angeles. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Predictive Analytics. He has over 12 years of experience in research and development of AI models, predictive analytics, machine learning, deep learning, and big data systems for science and engineering applications including healthcare, urban sustainability, air pollution, climate change, Earth science, wildfires, transportation, and traffic management. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in his field, and received four best paper awards. Before joining CSULA, he was a research scientist with UCLA and Cornell University. He has led more than 25 research projects in predictive analytics and machine learning for health, Earth science, and urban problems.
